Why
Do I Need a Messiah?
The book
of Genesis reveals the Fall of Man and the disobedience that separates Man
from God.
In Gen. 3:15
And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring
and hers; he will crush your head and you will strike his heal.
Here, God
is already revealing his plan to defeat Satan and offer salvation to the world
through his Son, Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:12
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through
sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned (13) for before
the law was given, sin was in the world.
Isaiah 59:2
But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have
hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear you. (John 3:16) For God
so loved the world that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in HIM
will not perish but have eternal life.
Luke 24:44
He said to them, "This is what I told you while I was still with
you; Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses,
the Prophets and the Psalms."
Old Testament
Prophesy pointing to Messiah:
Isaiah 9:6
"For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government
will be upon his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty
God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
Isaiah 55:11
So is my WORD that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent
it.
[There are
over 300 predictions concerning Christ in the Old Testament]
ROLE AS
PROPHET FORETOLD
Deut. 18:
15-20 "The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me
from among your own brothers. You must listen to him. For this is what you
asked of the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said
"Let us not hear the voice of the Lord our God nor see this great fire
anymore, or we will die." The Lord said to me: "What they say is
good. I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers;
I will put my words in his mouth and he will tell them everything I command
him. If anyone does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name,
I myself will call him to account. But a prophet who presumes to speak my
name anything I have not commanded him to say, or a prophet who speaks in
the name of other gods, must be put to death."

RESSURECTION PREDICTED
Isaiah 53:10,11
Yet, it was the Lord's will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and
though the Lord makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring
and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand. After
the suffering of his soul, he will see the light of life and be satisfied
by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many and he will bear their
iniquities.
